Lindas ex – Konzeptkunst

„At the risk of boring you we must mention this artist because he played a crucial role in the history of street art in Berlin. In 2003, posters of a desperate boy bemoaning the loss of his girlfriend Linda started to appear in areas of Berlin such as Friedrichshain. This persistent artist started to gain fame as more and more pathetic pleas for this girl Linda to take him back plagued the walls.

He would write that he would wait for her at a certain bar every Tuesday and Saturday. Berliners started to take note of this poor lover’s suffering and the public got involved. One person even published in a local newspaper, “He loves you, Linda”. The debate of whether this woman should take him back was public gossip and everyone seemed to have a point of view. New posters appeared commenting on the situation, people discussed it on the radio, and it was quite a public affair. Turns out it was all a fraud and the beautiful Linda character was just a work of one artist’s (Roland Brueckner) imagination. However, the scheme was super successful and showed the power of public art upon the imagintion of people.“
